Student's Council and Monitor System

A Students’ Council is formed every session in order to instil leadership quality among the students. This gives them a sense of responsibility and ownership. They act as a link between the Head of the School, teachers and students. They help in organizing different activities scheduled in the Almanac in close coordination with the teachers. The objectives are to ensure that our students are well prepared to be tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and responsible citizens.

CRITERIA AND METHOD OF SELECTION OF STUDENTS’ COUNCIL

For Primary & Secondary
  • Any student with a minimum of B1 grade in academics and minimum 90% attendance in previous academic year.

  • No instance of suspension, issue of yellow cards, during the previous & current academic year.

  • Students, who report to the school in proper & tidy uniform.

  • Aspiring students may give their names to the In-charge for various positions.

  • List of eligible candidates to be displayed on the School Notice Board.

  • Then the final selection will be done through democratic election.

METHOD OF SELECTION OF CLASS MONITORS

The class monitors shall also be part of Students’ Council. The class teachers shall appoint the class monitor on the basis of the following : The candidate must :
  • Have good communication skills and leadership qualities.

  • Be punctual, well-mannered, responsible and proactive besides being good in academics.

  • Be fair and impartial.

  • Be organized and shall have the ability to maintain decorum in the classroom.

  • Be acceptable to majority students of the class.

  • Have ability in planning the school activities and in encouraging others to participate.

FUNCTIONS OF THE STUDENT’S COUNCIL

  • To help the teachers during the morning assembly and during the break times.

  • To maintain general discipline.

  • To manage the dispersal.

  • To report to the hierarchy in case of any mishap/indiscipline/violation of code of conduct by the students.

  • To help school authorities during functions/celebrations/occasions.

  • To be part of the School Food and Discipline committees.

  • To ensure that all students reach school in regular and proper uniform.

  • To be an integral part of the school continual improvement.

  • To manage the students during lunch break.
